Meet Dr. KM Hlophe
Dr KM Hlophe is a specialist dermatologist that is trained to treat medical, aesthetics,
minor surgical and psychodermatological conditions.
She obtained both her medical degree (MBBCh ) and Masters in Medicine Dermatology (MMED Derm) from The University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), she is a Fellow in Dermatology at the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA), and also has a Diploma in HIV Management from CMSA.
She has special interests in Psychodermatology (which is a subspecialty in dermatology that focuses on conditions that are at the interface between dermatology and psychiatry).
It is estimated that 1 in 3 of the dermatology patients suffers from an underlying psychological condition. Her Masters research was in psychodermatology.
She has completed level 1 of the Psychodermatology Diploma from the European Society for Dermatology and Psychiatry (ESDap).

Medical Dermatology
There are over a thousand of skin conditions in dermatology, some benign, some malignant, not all rashes are the same.

Skin Cancer Screening
Skin cancers if detected early can be conservatively treated. Dermoscopy scanning of the suspicious lesions allows for early detection of cancerous lesion that the naked eye cannot detect.
